A Bird in the Hand

Today we had a beautiful sunny day with very cold temperatures.
We decided to hike around the park to see what was out there.
When we finished the boardwalk around the Visitor Center we
were mobbed by the local Nut hatches and Chick a dees. Below
are photos of the start of the skating oval, a view of Lake Huron
and Kerry feeding a Black capped chickadee.

Of Snow, Mice and Winters Return

Kerry and I arrived around noon Friday with snow
falling as well as the temperatures. We unfortunately
found mice droppings in hidden spots such as in
drawers and behind cabinets. I baited my rat zapper
2000 and this morning got our first victim.

The park is about half full (mostly the Yurts) with some
winter warriors on site as well.

We are on standby for our 2nd grandchild due any day now
we will keep you all posted.

Wow!! Can't believe we are starting a new year with so many possibilities ahead.

Kerry and I have been busy with family and
work over the past month or so and are eagerly
looking forward to returning to the park to do
some camping before the winter is over.

Our next big adventure is our trip to Europe this spring
that includes a 15 day river cruise from Amsterdam to
Budapest then 6 nights in Paris before flying  home
to begin a summer of camping and renewing past friendships.
Slowly we are putting together the details of the trip.
We have rented an apartment in Paris for our stay and
you can check it out at www.domaineleplessis.com/grenellehome.html
if you are interested. I do plan on posting our trip and progress
as we go via this site.

Our plans are still not complete yet but we do hope to spend some
time fishing at Blue Heron and camping at Chutes and maybe
with any luck Pukasaw National Park and Neys PP. We are also
planning to spend more time in Algonquin this fall as I have
a score to settle with my guide of last fall(I owe him big time) thanks Jim.

Last year we held an informal coffee and goodies campfire
at our site in MacGregor and we are planning to repeat this
on April 7th. If you are in the park please drop by with your favorite tale
of this past winter, and your favourite treat to share with all.

Enjoy the rest of your winter and as the daylight slowly gets longer
have only happy thoughts of camping possibilities on our horizon.

All the best
Tom and Kerry
