Well we are just 4 days from starting our 6th year of winter camping with believe it or not our 4th RV. We began this journey in January of 2008 with a 24ft fleetwood 5th wheel. We quickly realized that if we were to continue winter camping in the future that a larger unit was needed, and so in March of that year we purchased a 2004 36ft Newmar Scottsdale motorhome. We had many great winters and summer adventures in this unit, but in August 2012 after a very short search we traded in for a new 37ft 5th wheel and 2004 Chevy Silverado 3500 series. This trailer had a bunk unit in back which we figured would be great for the family when they visited, but they never came and the useable space in the living area became smaller every time we visited and I began to dislike the trailer. So in August of this year we traded that in for yet another 5th wheel. The new trailer now has a large living room with lots of sitting room and space to move around.
This year we are sharing a site 84/85 with friends as we both had originally decided to pass on winter camping this year but, have decided to return in a much reduced capacity but still will camp for our 20 nights.
We will be arriving on Wednesday October 30th and staying for 12 nights before covering the trailer up and leaving it for a couple of months while we travel abroad.
We will be hosting a coffee get together on Saturday November 9th for all of our fellow winter campers.
