Saturday May 12th. We awoke after not enough sleep for another jam packed day of activity and sightseeing. Today we visited the Keukenhof Gardens just outside of Amsterdam. 7 million bulbs are planted each year to bloom over an 8 week period with such colourful displays of tulips, hyacinths, and numerous other varieties. Pictures below are a small representation of the beauty of this garden.
Upon returning from the garden tour we went to the ship and checked in, had a quick bite and then set off by bus to take in the Heineken Experience. It was truly an experience and as we staggered back to the ship for an meet and greet and drink or two we began to settle in for the next 15 days sailing from Amsterdam to Budapest.
We have met a couple from Texas who seem to share our style of travel and we will most likely hang around with them for the duration.
